To those with pending expectations

You wrote it down last year, hoping to get the satisfaction of crossing it out of your list on a day like today. You feel the weight of disappointment moving from your chest to your belly as you curate next year’s expectations. Copy, then paste, while longing for the day you’d have your answers in hand. 

I know it’s getting harder and harder to wait on God’s promises. Trust me, I know the creeping temptation to second-guess what God promised. “Did He mean it? Maybe it was just my mind talking. Maybe He changed His mind. Maybe He doesn’t want it for me anymore.” 

Pause.

Breathe.

now take a look at this:

“God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change his mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?”

Let this be your reminder while you wait. Let it silence every doubt about the faithfulness of God. He has promised and He will do it.
